Understanding Quality Variations

In the world of gemstones and jewelry, quality can vary significantly. This can make it challenging to compare items directly. Lower quality or 'defective' diamonds are often sold below market value, whereas higher quality diamonds command premium prices. This principle also applies to other gemstones and fine jewelry.

Our Standards and Quality for Our Signature Collection

  • Expert Craftsmanship, Tailor Made, Never Mass Produced: Each piece of our jewelry is custom-tailored for you using innovative 3D custom technology. Unlike mass-manufactured items, our pieces are built precisely around your center stone, ensuring no gaps and a perfect fit for your finger size, even in .25 or .75 increments. This meticulous attention to detail preserves the structural integrity and overall quality of each piece.

  • Our Diamonds: Our diamonds are specially curated through experienced eyes and deep industry knowledge using an 8-point system. Beyond the 4Cs, critical features impact a diamond's appearance, which is why our selection process is so rigorous. Understanding these nuances is essential to finding the best value, and we're here to guide you through this process. Read more about how we look beyond the 4Cs.

For example, screening for Milky or Cloudy Diamonds (in BGM)

On top of screening for milky diamonds, and/or brown tints we also screen for bowties and dead spots in fancy cuts, for example in Ovals, see below:

There are many factors to consider, such as ensuring there is no chipped girdle or culet, avoiding blue nuances, and watching for a small table with high depth. A diamond with a small table and excessive depth can appear much smaller than its actual carat weight; for example, a 2-carat diamond might look like a 1-carat diamond if the weight is hidden at the bottom due to high depth or belly bulge, which can also cause light leakage.

  • Our Gemstones: Selecting gemstones involves even more complexity due to the lack of official guidelines. We apply the same stringent standards as we do with diamonds, focusing on hue, transparency, and saturation to ensure the best possible quality. For example, our Morganites are precision cut to enhance their luster and brilliance, unlike many available in the marketplace.

  • Full Cut Round Brilliant Melees: Each tiny diamond used in our jewelry is meticulously hand-selected and precisely calibrated. We use fully faceted, or full-cut, melees diamonds (with 58 facets) to ensure optimal light performance, unlike the single-cut methods (with 17 facets) used in more economical jewelry. This results in unmatched fire, brilliance, and scintillation, hallmark traits of fine jewelry. To learn more about the difference in our diamond melee quality, click here.

By adhering to these high standards, we ensure that every piece of jewelry we create is not only beautiful but also of the highest quality, providing our clients with the best value possible.
