Returns or Exchanges:

Customer satisfaction and confidence is important to us. We truly want you to be satisfied with your experience at The Classic Gem. We offer returns or exchanges on stock items* within 10 days of purchase. In case of refund, you will receive the full amount of your purchase less any shipping and insurance costs. The refund may only be issued to the purchaser. Returned items must be in its original condition along with all documents (such as certificates* and sales receipt) that accompanied it when it was purchased. Any items that show signs of wear, have been altered, damaged, engraved, or resized will not be accepted for return. We will, however, refund shipping, handling and insurance costs in case of an error on our part. 

If you received a gift and you know it was purchased here, it may only be exchanged. 

Custom designed pieces and special orders on gemstones and diamonds through partner programs are considered final. Please note that all special order or custom designed items are final, as your final sign-off and acknowledgement is required prior to placing an order. 

Custom Design Order Terms of Agreement
The CAD jewelry process is a very unique process with a large investment of time, resources and complexity involved; from sourcing the best materials in the international market, to matching and calibrating gemstones, as well as the training and investment in the state of the art tools and techniques such as CAD CAM (computer aided drafting and computer aided manufacturing), and time involved for designers and bench jewelers to work on the project. We have outlined a few terms of our custom order process.

Quotes are honored for 10 business days: Due to fluctuating market prices for precious metals and gemstones, quotes are valid for ten business days from when the quote was issued.

Custom orders are non-refundable once the process has started. While we welcome small tweaks and changes, new designs outside of the scope initially agreed upon will be considered a new project, and subject to a design change fee of $250-350.00. The Classic Gem owns all design copyright, and has the right to right to refuse or cancel any order.

Stock items* include any of the products that we typically carry.
Custom order or custom made items* include items that have been resized, modified or specifically made for you.

Certificates* are independent paperwork from a lab such that comes with a diamond or gemstone. Missing certificates are subject to a fee of $275.00 to cover the cost of insuring, shipping and re-certifying the gemstone.

Manufacturing Warranty & Jewelry Maintenance:

At The Classic Gem, we stand behind every product that we create. Our jewelry is crafted using the finest materials with the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. We do everything we can to offer you beautiful, original, fine jewelry to celebrate life's precious moments.

We offer free lifetime of free cleaning and inspections. The cleaning entails a deep clean in an commercial ultrasonic soak, a steam clean, and maintenance check which includes prong checking for any wear and tear damage.

We also offer a 12 month warranty to cover any defects in design or manufacturing. In the extremely rare event that there seems to a defect with any piece, we will replace or repair the piece free of charge.

The warranty does not include coverage for wear and tear, abuse, loss of stones, and theft. The warranty does not cover repairs if the best practices for care and cleaning are not followed. If your jewelry becomes damaged through wear and tear, negligence, or beyond the first year, repairs can be done for a fee. We offer a trade discount for any repair work for wear and tear and accidental damage.

On Temporary Mounts for Engagements/Proposals

We understand that picking the perfect ring, with the most perfect and unique design elements can be really hard to get right. We offer temporary mountings in a white gold or yellow gold, a classic 4 prong with a pinched shank to enhance the center stone for a loan for up to six months so that you can come back and re-design your ideal engagement ring with your partner after the proposal. Once you return the ring, we offer you a the full value less $150 to cover the service cost of refurbishing/recycling the ring and stone setting labor.

Shipping:

All in-stock items are processed and shipped within 5 business days. We do ship internationally to all addresses across the world. The client is responsible for any duties or taxes collected by your local government. Orders of less than $10,000 will be shipped and insured via UPS or FedEx second-day air. Items above this price will be shipped and insured via UPS or FedEx next-day air. These costs will be added to the total order price. Once the order is shipped, we will provide you with a tracking number. We fully insure each item for the final purchase price, from the time it is in transit until the time it arrives at its destination and the recipient’s signature is required at the time of delivery. Please note we cannot be held accountable for delays on the shipper's part due to severe weather or other unexpected conditions. If you would like to ship your item to an address other than the one listed on your credit card, you must place the address on file with your credit card company. Please note that we cannot ship to PO boxes. In-store pickup can also be arranged for any item purchased online.

Item Value and Shipping Plus Insurance Costs 

  • Up to $2,500 is $45 using FedEx Two Day Shipping with Full Insurance Coverage
  • $2,500 to $5,000 is $65 using FedEx Two Day Shipping with Full Insurance Coverage
  • $5,000 to $10,000 is $100 using FedEx Two Day Shipping with Full Insurance Coverage
  • $10,000 and up is $120+ depending on value, and will be shipped using Next Day Air with Full Insurance Coverage

Payment Methods:

We accept credit cards (Visa, or MasterCard) and any other form of cash or cash equivalent payments.

We offer an additional 1.5% merchant fee discount credit to any cash or cash equivalent payments (such as Chase QuickPay, PayPal, Bank Wire Transfers, Certified Bank Checks, Money Orders, Cash, or Personal Checks). This is not applicable to already discounted items which are already offered at cash prices. Items paid by credit card or financed will incur a fee of 1.5-5% depending on the card or financing vehicle.

Items paid by checks will be eligible for pick-up or shipped immediately once funds are cleared (normally 3-7 business days). If you need the item sooner, you can pay by wire, or cash or credit.

Upgrade Policy:

This is decided on a case by case basis. For items or diamonds that we usually stock, we will trade it in if your purchase is 2x or greater in value. The diamond that is being upgraded must be in original condition and accompanied by the original laboratory-grading document. In other words, this upgrade policy, is defined as a (minimum) of two times your original diamond purchase price. Your original diamond purchase price (minus 25-50% depending on the piece) is applied to your upgraded diamond and you simply pay the difference. This does not apply to used settings or jewelry, only the center stones. Please reach out to us and we will do our best to help put together a trade in package for you!
